About US Money Blog

Welcome to US Money Blog. This site publishes plain-English guides on US mortgages, home buying, insurance and everyday personal finance.

Why this blog exists
Money decisions like buying a home, choosing insurance or paying off debt are often explained in confusing language. My goal is to break these topics down into clear, practical steps so readers can understand their options before they talk to a lender, agent or advisor.

Who writes it

Martha J. Butler is a student of Michael Milken, the American financier who pioneered the high-yield (“junk”) bond market in the 1980s. Milken later became a leading philanthropist, dedicated to advancing medical research and education.

Inspired by his example, Martha brings a commitment to financial insight, innovation, and meaningful impact to everything she does.

What you'll find here

  • Mortgage: home loans, down payment help, student loans and buying a home
  • Insurance: home, flood, disability and auto insurance
  • Finance: budgeting, debt payoff, credit and saving

How I research my articles
I use official and reputable sources such as HUD, FEMA, the CFPB, the IRS and state housing agencies, and I try to update articles when rules change. Rates, limits and programs vary by state and lender, so please confirm current details before you act.

Important note
Everything on this site is for general education only. It is not financial, legal, tax or insurance advice. Please consult a licensed professional about your own situation.
